Proper installation is the prerequisite for the safe use of a construction waste chute. Based on years of engineering experience, Longkang has summarized a standardized installation process. This article details the installation steps.
- Pre-installation Preparation
- Technical Preparation
- Familiarize with construction drawings
- Determine chute routing and installation position
- Calculate the number of sections and fixing point positions
- Technical disclosure
- Site Preparation
- Clear the installation location
- Check scaffolding / external scaffold conditions
- Confirm hoisting equipment (if required)
- Prepare installation tools
- Material Preparation
- Acceptance of chute sections (verify specifications and quantities)
- Check accessories (sealing rings, buckles, fixing clamps)
- Prepare fasteners (anchor bolts, expansion bolts)
- Tools: wrench, level, tape measure, ropes
- Safety Preparation
- Working-at-heights personnel must hold certificates
- Wear safety harness and hard hat
- Set up a warning zone
- Weather check (wind force ≤ level 6)
- Installation Steps
Step 1: Bottom Fixing
- Determine the bottom position (discharge outlet position)
- Install the bottom base or support
- Place the bottom discharge section
- Adjust levelness and verticality
Step 2: Install Section by Section Upward
- Hoist the standard section
- Insert the spigot into the socket below
- Install the sealing ring
- Fasten the quick-release buckle
- Tighten the bolts
- Check joint sealing
Step 3: Fix the Fixing Clamps
- One fixing point every 3–4 m
- Clamp the clamp seat onto the chute
- Connect the clamp to the structure / external scaffold
- Fix with anchor bolts
- Check firmness
Step 4: Install Buffer Sections
- Install the 45° buffer section at the designed position
- Ensure the elbow section orientation is correct
- Seal the joints
- Reinforce fixing at the buffer section
Step 5: Install the Feed Inlet
- Install the feed-in section at the designed position on each floor
- Connect to the floor-level loading platform
- Install the movable door
- Check door sealing
Step 6: Top Installation
- Install the top feed-in section
- Top protective canopy
- Top platform
- Warning signs
Step 7: Inspection and Commissioning
- Check chute verticality
- Check all joints
- Check fixing points
- Trial drop (test with light objects)
- Adjust until normal
III. Installation Sequence Principles
- Install from bottom to top
- Fix first, then connect
- Must fix after every 3–4 sections installed
- Inspect while installing
- Multiple sections must not be left suspended without fixing
